Rolf Willmann, Senior Fishery Planning Officer in the FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department, has received the first MARE Oeuvre Award in recognition of his lifelong commitment to the cause of small-scale fishers.

Hygiene requirements, controls and inspections in the fishmarket chain

Today, fish and fish products are among the most traded food items at international level. Effective controls and inspections in the fisheries marketing chain extremely important for food safety and consumer protection. A new FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Circular, Hygiene requirements, controls and inspections in the fishmarket chain, presents the hygiene requirements, controls and inspection of fresh fish, molluscs and crustaceans throughout the market chain up to the consumer. It is a bilingual English-Russian publication.

The FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department will be producing selected titles as e-books, offering our readers greater content accessibility, portability and ease of use. The first title in the collection is Fishing harbour planning, construction and management, a technical paper covering all aspects of fishing port infrastructure, from inception to construction and management of the fishing port or landing once constructed.
